Naoto Fukasawa Poster

The brief was to choose a significant designer in history and create a poster that paid homage to his or her work. The poster was to work as an analysis of the designer's background, work, and philosophy, acting as a visual-verbal overview. Visuals were to embrace the essence of the designer's style and craft, coupled with text to outline and detail the content. Transition of elements and spatial relation was crucial for this 28" x 36" poster.
I chose product designer Naoto Fukasawa. My angle was to deconstruct the physicality of industrial design and accentuate the multiple characteristics that make up the essence of Fukasawa's work. His elements are both bold yet natural, coming together harmoniously for a personable yet progressive product.
You can check out a few initial concept compositions I did over on my blog.
